It has been dark and deliciously gloomy today. Joel and I read for hours this morning while Cors alternatively lounged and got himself into trouble. Tonight we are going out for one last hurrah before Jon leaves for Texas. We are going to miss him very much.
I have been thinking about this semester and how strange it will be next fall when everyone from my class is gone and I am still here, still taking classes. I do not think it will be too depressing. I have been making friends with the underclassmen and there are quite a few fun people around and Liz and Andre will be here too.
Anna and I have Philosophy together, and we have been swapping books. Right now she has my copy of Perseoplis 2 and I have her Eat Pray Love. I was not sure that I would like Eat Pray Love, but I felt that I should read it anyway. It is so much more wonderful than I thought it would be! The narrative is so wonderfully funny and surprising. It makes me almost want to visit Italy.
Joel got me the most beautiful orchid planet for Valentine’s day. Its gorgeous and brightens my mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Everyone should have a house plant to care for.
Now, it is time for me to return to my close reading of Plato and baking cupcakes.
