Last Thursday night I was tired. I had just gotten home from my evening class and Joel came running down the stairs.
“I just did something stupid and crazy and I think you should too.”
Then in a rush of words he told me about NaNoWriMo. An organization dedicated to writing a 50,000 word novel in a month. The month of November. I know November is going to crazy, afterall, it is the last month of my last undergraduate semester. I will have books to read, papers to write, projects to perfect, presentations to deliver, not to mention going to classes and working 15 hours a week. But I was hooked. I didn’t think it over pondering my busy schedule. No. I found the online form and dedicate myself to writing aproximately 1,800 words a day, for a month. I started last night. November 1st. I have a grand total of 1,680 words under my belt and I love some of my characters. I know that pretty soon I will most likely be sitting at my computer night after night prodding them and hoping that my listless prose will weave itself into somthing magical, but even when that happens I think I will love this month of writing.
