I have rather conflicted feelings about Jenny Lewis and her music. On the one hand I kind of hate about 1/4 of the songs on Rabbit Fur Coat, she had help on that album form The Watson Twins, but on the other I love the remainder of the album with a passion. I used to listen to the record while working in my studio in the basement of the art building at my college. It has the perfect energy for working on the painting you just can’t get right and needed to turn in yesterday.
So when I heard that Jenny was making a new album with her boyfriend, Johnny, under the name Jenny and Johnny, I was a bit apprehensive. Would I love it? Would I hate it? I wasn’t sure. I still haven’t heard the whole album, in fact I’ve just heard the one song (Scissor Runner) that’s currently up on their website, but I am actually quite excited about this album! I love Johnny’s vocals and the reverb on Jenny’s is perfection. Sigh, I can’t wait to hear the rest!
