I had the perfect evening last night! The kind of quiet, happy winter night that makes me wish I could spend every day at home with the snow swirling, the house warm from baking and knitting by the soft Christmas lights.

I got to bake and share a yummy (if I do say so myself) cherry pie and coffee with friends. Thank you, pie, for making the house smell so good!

While the pie was in the oven, I was trying to get a shot of Cors and me reflecting in the mirror, but he kept running off to bark at the cats playing in the snow or to hunt for tennis balls. So here I am, sans pup.

The sky was icy blue and full of snow. They say we’ll get more this weekend!

After our company left, Cors was patient for a few minutes and let me snatch this photo of him, but really he wanted to play “bark until someone throws my ball for me”.

I never get tired of seeing the little tree light up its corner of the living room.
