I had every intention of planning getting lots of great posts all typed and pretty and ready to go for this week, but then life got crazy! Before I knew it it was time to pack up, load the car, wrangle the puppy, and hit the open, snow dusted road! We got safely to West Virginia and Thursday morning we woke to a thick coating of snow with more falling ever minute.
Living in Chicago has made me to soft when it comes to driving in snow. They keep the roads clear and salted and perfect for driving even when there’s been feet of the white stuff. West Virginia never gets the kind of snow it got yesterday. Not outside of the mountains anyway.
My mom and I had plans to go shopping and I desperately needed to haul a huge number of Wayside Violet orders to the post office. But we thought we shouldn’t risk it. By 7pm the snow stopped and we all thought we could make it out to dinner. We got mom’s car stuck and thanks to some helpful folks in bigger cars we got it out.
We managed to get home and switch to our much more snow conquering car. We made it out and back in one piece and now I’m feeling better about the trip we’re making today.
Today is our 5th wedding anniversary and we’re going to Williamsburg, VA to celebrate. I’ve always wanted to see the place at Christmatime and I am so excited to get there. Fingers crossed we’ll get over the Appalachian mountains and make it in time for our dinner reservations. Let the adventures begin!
Cors is staying at my mom and dad’s. He can’t get enough of the snow!

Congratulations on your anniversary! Cors looks adorable and so happy!
