This has been the week for evening projects. Monday I finished a scarf for a friend of a friend, last night I re-potted my rose and tonight I’m going to paint the frame for the map I ordered for our guest room. I’m planning a little photo tour of the room soon, too. I think it’s going to be pretty!
The springtime rain is turning to sloppy snow today so I don’t feel too weird about sharing a few knit things today. This knitting party looks so lovely…
…and I love this photo of Anna Karina knitting between takes on the set of Une femme est une femme! I think it’s just gorgeous!
Confession, I’ve been having a fashion crisis lately. Maybe it stems from having to wear work clothes 9-5, Monday through Friday. When I first started this job at the university, I embraced a somewhat 1960s office ideal and invested in high-waisted skirts, buttons downs, and hip hugging, Joan Holloway-like dresses.
I like them, but when I’m away from work I just want to wear jeans and a boring tank and a cardigan. I kind of miss my rock n roll days and feel a little torn. So I’ve been going through my closet and trying to get rid of the pieces that don’t fit into either of my desired looks and it feels great! I hope that doesn’t sound very silly. Have you ever given your wardrobe a little make over?
Now that I’m sorting out my clothes, I’ve started daydreaming about accessories. I’m really loving these:
First Knuckle Ring (via Catbird)
The rings come in a few colors, but I really want the silver one.
The history of these little pretties is kind of neat, “Also known as memory rings or tea rings, these…are meant to be worn at the top of any finger. You think they will fall off but they don’t. And they look mysterious and cool. Move them from your pinkie to above the knuckle of any finger to help you remember to do something.”
I also really love the crisp sweetness of these collars and cuffs by SWANclothing. I think these would be adorable for work.
One last lovely thing for your Wednesday, a spring flower.
Is it sunny or snowy where you are?

I’m revamping my wardrobe too, one piece at a time since I’m on a budget, but cleaning out closets and drawers does something for the soul, I think. I’m going for a much more feminine everyday look because working full time at a bakery, I spend all day in a t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes with my hair all a mess. Funny how we rebel against our work uniforms.
