Hello! Sorry it’s been so quiet around here! We had a long weekend of traveling and when I say long I’m talking ten hour drives both ways, but it was so worth it! We went to West Virginia and got to see family and be at my good friend Anna’s wedding. It was a lovely time!
I tried to take lots of “real” photos and instagrams to document the trip. Our crazy GPS took us all the way to Louisville which added round 30 minutes or so to the drive, but it was a beautiful day and we didn’t mind seeing our old stomping grounds.
This guy was very happy to be in the car!
We got to West Virginia early in the evening on Friday and it felt like summer and smelled like roses and honeysuckle. It sounded like the barks of the pups running around the yard and laughter of my family. We ate dinner outside and went swimming in the evening.
My parents’ garden is looking so lush! My favorite part might be the moss growing near the pool.
Saturday morning my mom and sister and I got up early and went shopping. We hardly ever get to go shopping together these days so it was extra special and fun!
Saturday afternoon Joel and I got dressed up and went to Anna’s wedding. It was lovely!
Sunday morning we left the West Virginia hills,
passed a wind farm in Indiana,
and took lots of photos of this happy face!
We came home to a garden full of growing herbs and veggies and lettuces ready for salad making…
…and tiny strawberries strawberries! I can’t wait to taste them!
How was your weekend?

Your weekend sounds busy, but lovely!
I began removing a firetruck wallpaper border from my husband’s transforming office. My least favorite part was pulling down the Uppercase Living from the wall which defined ‘boy’ as “a noise with dirt on it.” I wanted to keep it!
Your garden looks lovely. So far, all we have growing are carrots, onions, one garlic plant, and an assortment of flowers. We hope to expand it next year, but home renovations make gardening difficult (I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that!).
Did you two both live in, Louisville at one time?
No, but when we lived in Greenville we drove through all the time. I love that little city!
It seems that my comment hasn’t been published?… so tell it again!
Sounds like a very sweat trip and it’s really nice to see your photos with your lovely family. xo
Shokoofeh, I’m so sorry! All comments keep going to the spam folder and I try to check it often and rescue all the real comments :)
