I wanted to spend today tackling the waist-high weeds that magically appeared while we were in California, but after a brief battle with mosquitos that ended in my defeat, I changed my mind. Now I am hiding out inside and waiting for the coffee maker to beep. So I thought I’d share this super good sandwich recipe/how-to/I’m not sure what the right word is for sandwich making directions, while I wait.
Last night, completely by accident, I discovered possibly the best sandwich of all time. It was dinner time and I took a look at what our kitchen had to offer. I pulled out the ninety-nine cent pretzel loaf from Trader Joe’s (worth every penny and more!), some off the bone ham, swiss cheese, mayonnaise and dijon mustard.
To make: I sliced the loaf along one side like a bun, spread the mayonnaise and mustard on both sides and then layered swiss and ham a few times starting and ending with swiss. I put the sandwich in the oven just until the cheese had melted. It was quickly devoured and the Rainier cherries were gone in a flash!
