a summer time manicure

I’m having a bit of a girl’s night in tonight and that means chocolate chip cookies, BBC period movies, and of course, nail polish! I wanted to get a little fancy so I pulled out some colors that I thought looked nice together and experimented. I came up with a gold tipped French manicure and I rather love it!

I used: Essie‘s Wast Hampton CottageChanel‘s Gold Lamé, and a Rimmel clear coat

Side note, I always make sure I take off any old polish, trim my nails, buff and shape them before I put on fresh polish. It will make your nails look nicer and your manicure stays fresher longer.

Step 1: Apply one coat of light pink (Essie). Allow to dry.

Step 2: Put a piece of the painters tape where you want the two colors to meet.

Step 3: Apply a coat of the gold to the tip of your nail. Allow to dry.

Step 4: Once all the polish is dry, remove the tape and apply a clear coat.

Step 5: Pay attention to your movie/show/glorious sunset, sit still and let your nails completely dry. This is the hardest one for me!

Step 6: Practice saying, “Why thank you, I did it myself!”
