This is a super great recipe because it’s easy-peasy and so very good! You can use pretty much any fruit combination that you’d like, but this time around I used two beautiful Granny Smith apples and a pint of perfect blackberries. Apples and blackberries are so great this time of year. Plus, this could be a great way to use up any apples you might have left over from a trip to the orchard.
What You Need
For the Crumble:
1 3/4 cups of flour
1/2 cup of butter
1/3 cup of sugar
For the Fruit:
3 apples (peeled and sliced)
a pint of blackberries
3 tablespoons of sugar
Preheat the oven to 400°.
Blitz the crumble ingredients in a food processor (or mix by hand) until they resemble fine bread crumbs.
Put the fruit in a shallow baking dish and sprinkle with sugar.
Sprinkle the crumble on top and give the dish a shake.
Bake until golden brown.
Super tasty with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whip cream and a mug of hot cider! This keeps really well. Just store in the refrigerator and then pop back int he oven for about 15 minutes or so at 350°.
