Today, I am very excited to share a little interview with the talented Yas from Quill and Fox! All of her work is so lovely. I even did my own Valentine card shopping in her shop. Make sure you visit her Etsy shop and site.
Thanks for sparing time for this interview, Yas!
Your work is beautiful! How did you begin designing paper goods?
I started doing paper goods when I did my own wedding invitations last year. I discovered how absolutely fun it was to design things that you can readily share to people. I had so much fun mailing them out.
What is your favorite part of the creative process?
The execution is my favorite part. I spend the most time on brainstorming ideas and sketching them out. It’s fun, but also very painstaking. I enjoy getting to that eureka moment and just bringing it to life afterwards. To finally see it come into fruition!

What was your inspiration for your Valentine collection?
My inspiration for my Valentine collection was from a pack of vintage playing cards I saw. I initially designed them out as these elaborate ornate things, much like those playing cards. But I eventually ended up with something a lot more elegant and simple. Another huge inspiration for me was a few children’s book I have: Guess How Much I Love You, and The Little Prince. My To the Moon and Back card was basically the one that really pushed this whole collection together. It just embodied all those inspirations in one.
What’s your favorite dessert?
I’m a bit of a dessert junkie, and my obsessions with them come in seasons. I’ve always been snacking on baklava these days!
