I think Valentine’s Day is such a nice time to send a little love and even a little treat to the special people in our lives. Here are two little gift guides I put together, one for him and one for her:

pretty things for her

marshmallow hearts by whimsy and spice, necklace by corrie berry pie, bobby pin by lara lewis, garland by kristina marie, and cute fox by sleepy king

I saw this pretty Down the Rabbit Hole watch and just had to build an outfit around it! I think soon we’ll be seeing lots of different takes on Alice in Wonderland.

perfect for a fancy tea party

tweed dress by adhesif, watch by sadie olive, and necklace by fox and clover

Tweed always seems a bit fall-ish to me, but it also makes me think of the outdoors and after so many winter days inside, a little outdoorsiness sounds kind of nice.

All the wonderful sweater weather that has been coming our way has also sent me a ton of Etsy orders and another wholesale order (my largest yet!) so there hasn’t been much time for just-for-fun projects this weekend. But I did come across two fun ideas that I just had to share:

so cute!

D.I.Y Saddle Shoes by Miss James from bluebird vintage.

Baby Shower Invitations by Elsie from a beautiful mess.  I think these would make lovely invites for pretty much any occasion.

I fell in love with this gorgeous pattern from Brooklyn Tweed last Fall and this weekend I finally got around to knitting it up.  This one is a birthday present for Joel’s sister, Grace.  I hope she likes it!

This was my first time knitting a lace pattern and I was so surprised at how fun it is. I definitely need to do more of this kind of knitting in the future!  This is the perfect weekend project for knitters and you can find the pattern over here.

Etsy is so full of lovelies…

I would wear this everyday!  (I’m always cold.)

I think this would be beautiful in a nice, airy guest room, maybe overlooking the ocean somewhere.

There are so many wonderful positive posters these days!  Maybe the resurgence of the Keep Calm and Carry On poster (we own two) started it all?  Whatever the case, I love it and can’t get enough of them!

Ps.  TheLoveShop is another of my favorite positivity shops!

How fabulous would it be to have a pair of jeans made especially for you!  As someone, ahem, vertically challenged I think it would be wonderful!  That is just what BrooklynTailors does:

Isn’t this just too pretty?

This lovely photo (and gorgeous fascinator) suit my mood perfectly!  I’m working on the prettiest bridal order, moss green cozies with creme flowers.  Love!  I’m hoping to fit some time in for some sewing (in between all the knitting) this weekend.   Maybe I can snatch a wee bit of time to make this clutch and I’m dreaming of making this dress:

I got the sweetest email from Lara of the lovely laralewis.etsy.com about a week ago and it totally made my day!  She sent me the most wonderful necklace and I just received it today.  I can’t take it off!  Love!

The weather is so amazing today!  I got outside and spray painted our porch swing.  Now it’s a much more stylish black.  While I was doing that, Cors rolled around in the ever-growing grass and watched bumblebees. Must have been a workout because now he is napping in the sunshine.  Joel’s working on a website that he wants to have live tomorrow (it looks awesome!) and I’m working on some knitting.  I’m hoping to make a supply run later and maybe catch a movie.  It’s been a nice Saturday.  What have you been doing?

As many of you know, I love Etsy!  Etsy is a wonderful online market place for handmade and vintage items, but it is also so much more!  It is a beautiful, inspiring community of crafters and artists.

One result of that community is the first ever Etsy Day.  Etsy sellers and buyers have banded together and declared today, April 24th 2009, a day of guerilla marketing for Etsy.  If you haven’t visited Etsy.com yet, you should.  I recommend the Gift Guides you’ll find unique, often one of  a kind gifts and it’s a great feeling to support handmade artists!

Happy Etsy Day!
