Project 52: Week 2
For a recap of this project checkout the first post.
This Week’s Project
Project: Eat a serving of fruit everyday
Length of Project: This week
Sometimes you just need a simple, accomplishable goal. I washed and cut lots of berries and pineapple for quick fruit salads and somedays just went with a banana. Sometimes, just accomplishing one little thing like this or making the bed can set the tone for the rest of the day in a positive way.
On Going Projects
Project: Read one book a month
Length of Project: All year
For January, I am reading Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers, and EMO by Andy Greenwald. I’m almost halfway through.
I’m using Goodreads to keep track of my progress on this goal.
Project: Gratitude Journal
Length of Project: All year
Back in 2017, a lot of the women I follow on Instagram seemed to be embracing the gratitude journal practice. (It think it’s because it was such a tough year and we all needed an extra does of optimism and positive thinking.) My parents gave me this beautiful journal for Christmas and on January 1st I started writing in it.
I still haven’t found the perfect time of day for keeping up this practice. But I have managed to write a line or two every day.
Project: Dry January
Length of Project: The month of January
The idea is very simple: no alcohol of any kind in January. One night, after three cups of tea, there was no getting to sleep. So we’ve switched to fresh mint tea like we were first introduced to in Ireland. Every time I make it I think that our friend Tracy in Newcastle and her gorgeous garden and her kind hospitality. She made us fresh mint tea from her garden ever night we were with her and it was magic.
I’ve also been making a batches of shortbread and scones to go with tea.
