a day off
Yesterday, I gave myself a full day off from schoolwork. I’ve had an intensive summer tutoring class-like-thing and it has been a lot of work. I’ve been feeling a bit tired and burnt out from it and a day off was needed. I tidied the loft, played with Cors a bunch, read a book, gave myself a very tween manicure (the polish is called Mermaid’s Dream), and finished the day listening to the Austin Symphony play big band and swing music in the park. It was perfect!
We weren’t close enough to have a good view of the symphony so the photos below are the views from our little bit of park.
historic homes of austin tour
My friend Tiffany always finds the best things to do in Austin. This weekend, she signed us up for a walking tour of historic homes in Austin. Friday night we had a huge thunderstorm which cooled things down perfectly for the tour.
Saturday morning we walked up through the beautiful Capitol grounds and started the tour at the Governor’s Mansion. It’s a beautiful home set back from the road. Like a lot of the homes on the tour, I’ve driven right past for a year and didn’t even realize that it was tucked back behind the magnificent trees.
