historic homes of austin tour
My friend Tiffany always finds the best things to do in Austin. This weekend, she signed us up for a walking tour of historic homes in Austin. Friday night we had a huge thunderstorm which cooled things down perfectly for the tour.
Saturday morning we walked up through the beautiful Capitol grounds and started the tour at the Governor’s Mansion. It’s a beautiful home set back from the road. Like a lot of the homes on the tour, I’ve driven right past for a year and didn’t even realize that it was tucked back behind the magnificent trees.
austin places: homeslice pizza
Have I ever mentioned Homeslice Pizza? No? I can’t believe it! Homeslice is our go-to-place for delicious pizza and a low-key evening. It’s the best pizza in Austin!
Our crazy work week stretched into the weekend this time around. When we were finally off the clock on Saturday evening we headed down to South Congress and to the wonderful aroma of pizza.
We had our usual pepperoni and mushroom, tried a new salad, and finished up with a cannoli. Perfection! If you’re ever in Austin and in need of a proper slice go see our friends at Homeslice.
austin places: lady bird johnson wildflower center
One day during Audra’s visit, we met up with my friend Tiffany at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. It was my first visit and I was impressed with the variety of paths and gardens and plants and wildlife.
We started at the observation tower. It has built-in nooks for plants which are just so neat and a nice little view of the prairie area on one side and the more organized gardens on the other.
