autumnal etsy finds
I thought it might be nice to start this month off with some of my recent, autumn-y Etsy favorites. October is my favorite month. It always makes me want to create and explore. Oh, and read lots and lots of good books over ever so many cups of coffee.

A slice of pie and a mug of something warm seems like a dessert that was made just for this time of year. The gleaming granny smiths that I bought on my last trip to the market have been calling my name and demanding to be made into a delicious pie.
I’ve tried so many apple pie recipes in the past and all of them let me down in one way or another. The filling might be perfection, but the crust would be too soggy, too hard, etc. The best combination of recipes I’ve found is Jamie Oliver’s old-fashioned sweet shortcrust pastry and Paula Dean’s apple pie filling recipe. Together they make the best apple pie ever!
It’s a beautiful Friday afternoon. There is coffee in my cup and sunshine on the leaves. The maples are turning their pretty orange-red, of all the fall colors those are my favorite shades!
I went looking through Poppytalk’s annual Autumn Colour Week flickr Group and I put together two pretty photo groups from their pool with a few from my own flickr favorites sprinkled in, too. Enjoy!

Since classes are starting at the university I work at it truly feels like Fall is just around the corner! It’s chilly enough in my office for lattes and hot chocolates year round, but I can’t wait for the weather to catch up and make my daily sweaters and long sleeves seem a little more appropriate.
My wardrobe could use a little sprucing up so I did a bit of window shopping this evening. Want to see what’s in my imaginary shop bag? Oh good, because I’m dying to show you! I like this pretty printed dress and scarf combination from Anthropologie

why hello, november
Oh my goodness, how is it November already? This month is going to be such a blur! I’ll be working on a wonderful wholesale order that I am so excited about, trying to get all of my Christmas presents made, and traveling to the beautiful mountains of West Virginia over the Thanksgiving holiday. There will certainly be many late nights, plentiful cups of coffee, beautiful friends to visit, and lots of memories to make. How is your November shaping up?
