renegade craft fair
It’s that time of the year again, friends! Renegade Craft Fair is back in town this weekend!
I am very happy that they’ve moved the fair to the east side of town. Make sure you stop by and check out the new venue and all the fun!

Renegade Craft Fair’s Austin Holiday Market
Looking for something fun to do in Austin today? I highly recommend a visit to the Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market at the Palmer Events Center.
It’s always a good way to walk off some of that pumpkin pie and maybe pick up a Christmas gift or two.

Saturday my friend Abby and I went down to the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse to the The 6th Annual Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market in Chicago. We’re quite the Renegade veterans these days, but I wasn’t prepared for the huge size of the crowd. It was a crazy-good turnout! Maybe I should have been and maybe my brain needs to catch up to the fact that it’s in Chicago and there are a ton of people in this city.
The venue and the event were both wonderful! There were booths set up upstairs and down and in lots of different rooms. Everywhere you turned there were pretty things, tasty things, and interesting conversations.

I didn’t take very many photos of the lovely booths, because I’m shy and feel awkward pointing my camera at someone else’s hard work. Some year, I’d like to take portraits of all the venders, but that would be a project for the bold.
renegade craft fair, part 2
As promised, here is the second installment of my Renegade Craft Fair day. I found a few perfect gifts this year: a pair of beautiful votives from Julie Dye Craft for my sister, a cute notebook for my sister-in-law and a print (that I’m using as a birthday card) for Joel.
I couldn’t resist these beautiful Little Things Studio note cards. I think her yarn and balloon packaging is just adorable!
And I had to bring home treats from Milk & Honey: lemon & lavender cookies and cranberry & chocolate chip pastries.

This was my second Renegade Craft Fair and I feel so lucky that I’ve gotten to go two years in a row. Maybe it was the perfect weather or the fact that Abby and I are now totally awesome Renegade veterans, but I enjoyed this year even more than last. The variety of the booths was wonderful!
I took so many photos at the fair so today I’ll just share booth and shopping photos.

This morning I got up early and went downtown to my very first Renegade Craft Fair with my friend Abby! She’s a native Chicagoan and I am super grateful for her navigation skills. We hopped on the Metra and took it down to Union Station, then a short ride on the L, and there we were in Wicker Park!
It was a drizzly morning but everyone seemed to be having a good time. It was like a handmade party! And it was so neat to see things in person that I’d only seen on Etsy and to meet the sweet folks that make them.
